In the rolling hills of the Cher Valley, Domaine des Quatre Piliers has, in only a few vintages, swiftly emerged as one of Touraine’s most compelling new addresses. The wines, both red and white, exude purity, tension and finesse—the fruit of uncompromising precision and patient élevage.
Founded in 2019 by Valentin Desloges, the domaine takes its name from four principal lieux-dits that structure its mosaic of some 25 parcels. Today, the estate comprises 15 hectares, with 12 hectares under vine. Sauvignon Blanc accounts for 70% of the plantings, while Cabernet Franc covers 2.5 hectares, and Pinot Noir, Pineau d’Aunis and Chenin Blanc each occupy 0.5 hectares. Clay-limestone, flint, sand and iron-rich clays shape a diverse palette of terroirs across the domaine.
Though born into a vigneron family, Desloges chose not merely to follow in his parents’ footsteps but to forge his own path. His formative years were spent working with some of France’s most fastidious estates—Vincent Sipp in Alsace, the Todeschini family at Château Mangot in Saint-Émilion, Paul and Thierry Pillot in Chassagne-Montrachet and Raphaël Coche at Domaine Coche-Dury in Meursault—each reinforcing the belief that authenticity is not formulaic but built on obsessive attention to detail. Returning home, he founded Domaine des Quatre Piliers to give shape to his vision of contemporary Loire wine.
