Allen Meadow 93

More subtle, though still ample, oak influence allows the discreet, even timid aromas of various white fleshed fruit, lemon-lime confit and acacia blossom to be appreciated. The exceptionally rich and succulent, if not especially dense, medium weight flavors possess a refined textured while the overtly lemon-tinged acidity maintains the balance on the slightly more refined and more mineral-driven finish. This moderately dry effort is a Le Clos of finesse.

Antoine Vincent recounted that the 2023 growing season "began in an almost leisurely fashion with just enough heat and rain to wake the vines up and get them moving as it were. While there was some early oidium and mildew pressures, on the plus side the flowering was completed both rapidly and uniformly along with a generous fruit set. The rest of the season was an alternating pattern of heat and rainstorms, some of them quite violent and especially the one that hit the night of the 11th of July. If we again focus on the positives though, the ample rain aided the vines in largely avoiding any significant hydric stress though there was some in a few of our parcels that shed water quickly. Ultimately we began picking on the 5th of September with our young vines in St. Véran and then continued with those parcels that are the most precocious in Chaintré and Fuissé while finally concluding on the 17th. Yields for the chardonnay came in between 55 and 60 hl/ha with perfect potential alcohols that ranged from 12 to 13%.
